D-shackles are used for connecting ropes, chains, wire ropes assemblies.  These are ideal for exterior use, and the extra length of these Long Dee-shackles makes them suited for swings / swing chairs and other uses where the standard D-shackle geometry may not be long enough to fit the components.  Once assembled, the long Dee shackle has a hole in the end of the securing pin to allow lock wire to be installed to make sure the shackle pin cannot come loose.
